- The document specifies requirements and corresponding methods of test for precipitated sodium aluminium silicate for use as extender in paints. For the composition (silica and carbon contents), organic surface treatment, matter volatile at 105 ? loss on ignition, oil absorption value and pH value figures are specified. Requirements for residue on sieve, particle size distribution apparent density after tamping and specific surface area are left to an agreement between the interested parties.
