Scope

This standard specifies the penetration test method for determining the cone index using a cone penetrometer for specimens made by compacting soil that has passed through a 4.75 mm sieve into a mold. Note that this test can also be applied to soil that has been stabilized. Reference: The cone index of stabilized soil to which this test can be applied is approximately 1 to 1.5 MN/m or less.
