- This standard specifies sterile and non-sterile disposable rubber gloves for use in non-surgical examinations, medical examinations, therapeutic procedures, and when handling contaminated medical materials to protect patients and users from cross-infection. (referred to as gloves). Also. This standard also applies to gloves with smooth surfaces and gloves with partially or fully rough surfaces.
