This standard specifies specific test procedures for obtaining and presenting comparative data on some fundamental properties of plastics. Generally, each property is defined by a single experimental value. However, in some cases, properties may be expressed not by a single value but by two values obtained under different test conditions. The properties covered by this specification are those normally shown on the manufacturer's data sheet. This standard applies primarily to unreinforced and reinforced thermoplastics and thermosets which can be injection molded, compression molded or made as sheets of specified thickness.
