Scope: This standard applies to the production and application of test versions for color copiers. This standard is used as a test standard for the image printing performance of color copiers to better confirm and compare the performance and limitations of various copiers. When testing a copier using this standard, at least 2 of the 8 test plates (1 black and white and 1 color) should be used. Copies can be visually inspected and compared to test copies, and observable measurements can be made on these copies. The 8 test plates of this standard include 4 halftone test plates (1 photographic, 3 offset) and 4 continuous tone test plates (photographic). All simulation test versions produced in accordance with this standard are valid for three years.
