Scope
This standard is applicable to E14, E27 and E40 type Eddie, which are only used when lamps and semi-luminaires are connected to the power supply. This standard is also applicable to switches used only in AC circuits with operating voltage not exceeding 250V (effective value). It is also applicable to the working voltage not exceeding 25V, the series connection of E5 type screw lamps for indoor use is 60V, the series connection of E10 type screw lamp holders for indoor and outdoor use, and the embedded type connected to the power supply alone are not allowed to be retailed. As far as reasonable application of this standard is concerned, this standard also applies to non-screw socket lampholders connected in series with the mains. NOTE 1 Lampholders of this type are used, for example, in Christmas tree lighting circuits. This standard also applies to those lampholders which are wholly or partly integrated in a luminaire and which are intended to be installed in equipment. This standard only deals with requirements for lampholders. For other requirements, such as protection against electric shock at the terminals, the standard for the relevant equipment shall apply and, when testing the equipment in accordance with that standard, the test shall be carried out with such lampholders installed in suitable equipment. Such lampholders shall not be put up for retail sale. Stand-alone lampholders not intended for flush-mounting, such as flush-mounted lampholders, may also be tested as luminaires. This standard applies to lampholders installed in indoor, outdoor, residential lighting fixtures and industrial lighting equipment, and also applies to candle-shaped lampholders. In some occasions with special conditions of use, such as street lighting, ship decks, motor vehicles and those dangerous occasions prone to explosion, lamp holders with special structures can be used. Note 2 The formulation of this standard is based on the following parameters of the corresponding general lighting lamps; --E14 type lamp cap is used for lamps with a current not exceeding 2A; --E27 type lamp cap is used for lamps with a current not exceeding 4A; --E40 type lamp cap For lamps with a current not exceeding 16A. 3 If the nominal voltage of the power supply does not exceed 130V, the maximum current of the E10 lamp cap is 32A (see 4.5 and 5.3). 4 For lampholders used in luminaires, the maximum operating temperature is given in GB 17935.
