Scope

This Part of BS 4656 specifies with reference to BS 3800 : Part 1 : 1990 both geometrical and practical tests for machining centres and computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machines of horizontal and vertical spindle types, with a working envelope of up to 3000 mm. This Part of BS 4656 applies to machines having a minimum of four numerically controlled axes, three linear (X, Y and Z) and one rotary axis (spindle) and gives the permissible deviations which apply.
