This standard provides a quantitative method for estimating the strength and effectiveness of adhesive joints at metal adhesive and primer interfaces. This standard can also be used as a method for checking the surface treatment of base materials. This method is currently applied to bonding aluminum and titanium alloys, but it may also be used to evaluate the surface treatment of other metals and plastics, taking into account the thickness and hardness of the adherend.
