1.1 This standard specifies the test method for electric trains that are mechanically guided and supported by wheels, powered by either co-rotating motors or linear motors controlled on-board. The test method applies to the following vehicles: A train that is powered by an external power source, either DC, AC, or both AC and DC. 1.2 The purpose of this standard is to carry out tests on electric cars, from completion of assembly to before they are put into service, to demonstrate the following: Verify through a form test that it conforms to the contract agreed upon between the parties involved in the delivery and delivery. A commercial test will demonstrate that all trains meet the design standards verified in type tests. This standard does not include tests to demonstrate durability and reliability.
