Scope
The purpose of this standard is to specify the general requirements for safe entry into machinery as described in GB/T 15706.2-1995. This part of the standard gives recommended options for accessing facilities when access to machinery is required and cannot be accessed directly from the ground or floor. This standard applies to all machinery (stationary and mobile) requiring fixed means of access, and this standard applies in particular to means of access which form an integral part of the machine. In the absence of specific standards or national regulations, this standard also applies to access to machinery installed in buildings as part of them. It is especially suitable for factories composed of large-scale units operated in complete sets (such as power plants, paper mills, steel mills, petrochemical plants, etc.). Note: In the case of large machines, when the means of access (e.g. stairs, etc.) are an integral part of the building or a part of the machinery which is difficult to determine, other requirements may be met (e.g. evacuation routes from the building, etc.) standard. This standard also applies to access facilities that are not permanently attached to the machine, but which can be removed or moved aside for certain operations on the machine (such as changing the felt of a paper machine). This standard does not apply to lifting devices or movable lifting platforms designed for lifting people or other specialized devices. See Chapter 4 for major hazards covered by this standard.
