Scope
This standard specifies the end quenching test method (Jominy test) to determine the hardenability of steel. A sample with a diameter of 25 mm and a length of 100 mm is used for the test. Note: Through negotiation, the scope of application of a certain regulation will be determined. An approved mathematical model (see Appendix C) can be used to perform Jominy curve calculations instead of the end quenching test described in this standard; if there is any objection to the results, the end quenching test should be performed.
