This standard applies to radiotherapy simulators (hereinafter referred to as simulators) that use X-ray diagnostic equipment to actually simulate therapeutic radiation beams so that the treatment area can be positioned during treatment and the location and size of the therapeutic radiation field can be determined. This standard applies to simulators using high-voltage generators that meet the requirements of IEC60601-2-7 (GB9706.31992). This standard applies to simulators for the purpose of radiotherapy simulation, not for general diagnostic examination. This standard applies to simulators consisting of: a) a system capable of generating radiation beams not exceeding 400 kV for simulating the geometry of radiotherapy beams; b) a radiographic or fluoroscopic display of X-rays a system for imaging; c) a device for controlling the size of the beam of radiation to define the desired treatment area; d) a mechanical structure that can actually simulate the geometry and motion of the radiotherapy equipment and support the imaging system; e) a Treatment bed system.
