Scope

The special requirements of this section apply to bathtubs and shower basins and their surrounding areas where the risk of electric shock due to reduced body resistance and contact between the body and earth potential is increased. These requirements, with the exception of 701.53b), do not apply to box-type prefabricated shower cabinets with shower basins and drainage facilities.
