Scope

This standard specifies suspension insulators made of porcelain or glass and salt-resistant suspension insulators (hereinafter referred to as insulators) mainly used in AC overhead lines.It applies to the following insulators. a) Porcelain insulators as previously specified by JIS.Specified in the main body of this standard. b) Porcelain and glass insulators for AC overhead lines with a nominal voltage exceeding 1000 V and a frequency lower than 100 Hz as specified in IEC 60305 and specified in the Annex (Regulations) of this standard. Note that either the main body or annexes (regulations) of this standard shall be applied consistently to a single product. Corresponding provisions and contents of both shall be applied by selecting or mixing them as appropriate. It is not possible.
