This British Standard specifies requirements for materials, dimensions, classification, design, testing and marking for pressure and non-pressure pipes, fittings and joints made from glass reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) with or without an aggregate filler. It is applicable to pipes and associated fittings having nominal diameters from 100 to 4000 for use at pressures up to 25 bar and intended for the conveyance of potable and non-potable water, foul sewage and storm water.
The pipework may also be used for conveying industrial wastes providing its suitability has been established.
Methods of test are given in appendices A to N. Methods for statistical analysis of long term data from GRP pipes and fittings are given in appendix P.
Guidance and information on quality control testing and associated sampling is given in appendix Q. A bibliography is given in appendix R.
NOTE. The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover.
note:*1 bar = 10 N/m = 10 Pa.
