- This standard applies to air circuit breakers with AC 50Hz or 60Hz, rated voltage not exceeding 440V (phase-to-phase), rated current not exceeding 125A, and rated short-circuit capacity not exceeding 25000A. This standard also applies to circuit-breakers having more than one rated current class, the rated current of which cannot be changed from one rated value to another during normal operation, and whose rating cannot be changed without tools. This standard does not apply to: - circuit breakers for protecting motors; - circuit breakers whose setting current can be adjusted by the user. This standard stipulates: 1) The characteristics of circuit breakers. 2) Conditions that the circuit breaker shall comply with in the following cases: a) operation and performance of the circuit breaker in normal operation; b) operation and performance of the circuit breaker in overload condition;
