Scope

This standard specifies the basic dimensions and marking methods for the interchangeability of spin-on fuel filters for automotive diesel engines. This standard applies to spin-on fuel filters for automotive diesel engines. NOTE: The preferred construction for spin-on fuel stainers is without internal seals, which are specified in Clause 2. If an internal sealing ring is required, the filter construction in Appendix A (standard appendix) can be selected. Corresponding filter connections are specified in ISO 7310, ISO 7811 and ISO 7577, see Appendix B (reminder appendix).
