Scope

This standard specifies standard requirements for marine lighting equipment. This applies primarily to fixed or portable luminaires used for illumination purposes, but also to navigation lights and other luminaires used for navigation in straits, ports, etc. This standard also applies to wiring equipment and installed electrical equipment. This standard does not apply to battery-type portable lamps.
