- This standard specifies 26-pin connectors for use at the interface between data terminal equipment (DTE) and data circuit-terminating equipment (DCE), including necessary mating dimensions and assignment of contact numbers. It is suitable for occasions where the interface functional characteristics conform to the 100 series definition in CCITT Recommendation V.24 and where the interface characteristics conform to (CITT Recommendation V.10, V.1 or .28). It is not suitable for parallel data transmission modems.
