Scope
This standard is based on IEC 1000-4-2 and references that standard where applicable. This standard specifies the general requirements for electrostatic discharge tests of static measuring relays and protective devices with or without output contacts. The purpose of this test is to demonstrate that the measured measuring relays and protective devices under test will not malfunction when energized and affected by electrostatic discharge. The requirements of this standard apply only to new measuring relays and protective devices. The tests specified in this standard are type tests. The purpose of this standard is to specify: a) definitions of terms used; b) severity levels of tests; c) test conditions; d) test procedures; e) acceptance criteria.
