This standard specifies the requirements for the immunity of equipment under operating conditions to power-frequency magnetic field disturbances in the following locations. --Residential areas and commercial areas; --Industrial and mining enterprises and power plants; --Medium and high voltage substations. For equipment installed in different locations, the applicability of this standard depends on the phenomena indicated in Chapter 3. This standard does not consider disturbances caused by capacitive and inductive coupling in cables or other parts of field installations. Conducted disturbances related to this are considered in other standards. The purpose of this standard is to establish a common and repeatable reference for evaluating the performance of household, commercial and industrial electrical and electronic equipment exposed to power frequency (continuous and short-duration) magnetic fields. This standard specifies the following items: -- Recommended test levels; -- Test equipment; -- Test arrangement; -- Test procedures. Standards will also be formulated for other types of magnetic fields: --Magnetic fields of other power source frequencies (102/3Hz~20Hz or 30Hz~400Hz); --Harmonic current magnetic fields (100Hz~200Hz); Tuned to ground 150 Hz, eg for signal systems of power supply networks); -- DC magnetic field.
