Scope
The purpose of this standard is to specify general requirements for electrical disturbance testing of static measuring relays and protective devices. Where appropriate, the test may also be applied to electromechanical relays, such as high-speed or high-sensitivity electromechanical relays. The requirements apply only to new relays or devices. The tests specified in this standard are type tests. Insulation tests including impulse voltage tests are specified in GB/T 14598.3-1993 (idt IEC 255-5 "Insulation Tests for Electrical Relays"). The purpose of this standard is to indicate: 1) definitions of terms used; 2) standard test severity levels; 3) test conditions; 4) test procedures; 5) acceptance criteria.
