This standard covers platinum resistance temperature detectors (hereinafter referred to as resistance temperature detectors) that are installed in the main engine, auxiliary equipment, freezer holds, piping, tanks of liquefied gas carriers, etc. of ships and used for temperature measurement, and signal conversion. This specifies resistance temperature detectors with built-in converters (hereinafter referred to as thermometers with built-in converters).
