Scope

The guidelines given in this standard describe the welding quality requirements suitable for use by enterprises using welding as a means of manufacture. These welding quality requirements. The presentation of these welding quality requirements makes it applicable to the manufacture of any type of fusion welded structure. Furthermore, these requirements relate only to those quality factors of the final structure which may be affected by welding and related processes. The guidelines specify the quality requirements for welded fabrication in workshops and on-site, and provide guidance for describing the ability of enterprises to produce welded structures of specified quality. The guidelines can also be used by any interested party as a basis for evaluating a company's welding quality measures. The guidance also guides the establishment of routine or contractual requirements and establishment managers' determination of welding requirements in the quality system in relation to the type of welded construction. This guidance by itself should not constitute any general, contractual or regulatory requirement. This guideline can be used for the following purposes: To provide instructions required in the GB/T 19000 series of standards, to guide the regulation and establishment of quality system parts related to the control of welding (which is regarded as a special process). To provide guidelines for the establishment of regulations and welding quality requirements not included in the quality system of GB/T 19001 and GB/T 19002; to evaluate the welding quality requirements involved in a) or b) above. Its application will typically occur in the following situations: - determination of welding requirements for quality systems in a contract environment; - establishment and maintenance of welding quality requirements by manufacturers; Requirements; -- by interested parties, ie third parties, users or the manufacturer's governing body: evaluation of welding quality requirements.
