BS EN ISO 140-5:1998 Acoustics - Measurement of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements - Field measurements of airborne sound insulation of facade elements and facades
Applies to the sound insulation of a building facade with respect to external noise such as traffic noise. The sound source for the steady state 1$2T$d3 octave band filtered level difference can be either the existing traffic noise or noise from a loudspeaker. The results, expressed as either sound reduction index or standardized level difference can be used to determine whether facades have met acoustic specifications. Method mainly intended to measure noise reduction efficiency of double glazing.
