1.1 This standard specifies procedures for calculating the typical volume of material to be loaded into the buckets of loaders and loading shovels. This capacity consists of the flat capacity determined by the internal dimensions of the bucket and the volume of the peak loaded on top of the flat capacity. 1.2 This method calculates bucket capacity by dividing a complex-shaped bucket into simple geometric shapes. 1.3 This method is for comparing bucket capacities and does not specify actual loading capacity.
