This standard specifies two types of ashing methods used to determine the ash content of raw rubber, compounded rubber and vulcanized rubber. This method is applicable to raw rubber, compound rubber, and vulcanized rubber belonging to groups M, N, O, R, and U specified in ISO 1629. This standard does not cover ash content determination results for inorganic components of compounded rubber and vulcanized rubber. This is the responsibility of the analyst. The analyst must be aware of the behavior of rubber additives at elevated temperatures.
