This standard specifies equipment mounting rails (hereinafter referred to as rails) for mounting electrical equipment such as relays, contactors, switches, and industrial terminal blocks that are used at 1000 V AC or lower or 1500 V DC or lower. The rails referred to here are primarily used for mechanical support of electrical equipment inside switchboards, control panels, etc., and are not applicable for use for conductive purposes.
