Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for preventing the steering mechanism from causing injury to the driver, the test method for the steering wheel to move backward when the car is hit by the front, and the test method for the energy absorbed by the steering wheel when it is hit. This standard is applicable to vehicles of category M₁, but not to vehicles with short heads and flat heads.
