Scope
This standard specifies the general operating standards for manually operated equipment (operations) that form part of the man-machine interface associated with electrical equipment, with the following objectives: Increase safety (of people, assets, environment, etc.) through safe operation of equipment. — Facilitate proper and timely operation of operating equipment (operating parts). This standard applies to the operation of electrical equipment, machinery or plant not only in normal conditions but also in faulty or emergency conditions. This standard covers general applications ranging from single-operation devices (controls) such as pushbuttons to multi-operation devices (controls) that form part of large-scale electrical and non-electrical equipment assemblies or central process control stations. apply.
