- Scope
- This standard applies to the determination of the electrical conductivity of aviation fuels and distillate fuels with or without antistatic additives. This standard gives the conductivity of the fuel when it is not charged, that is, the conductivity measured in the static state of electricity (called static conductivity). This standard adopts the portable instrument test method. Testing can be performed in the field tank or in the laboratory. Before the test, the interference of the residual charge should be minimized, and the fuel under test should be avoided from being polluted. The values expressed in SI units are to be regarded as standard values. This standard involves certain hazardous materials, operations and instruments, but it is not intended to make recommendations on all safety issues related to this. Therefore, users should establish appropriate safety and protective measures and determine the applicable management system before using this standard. For special precautions see relevant text.
