The document specifies requirements and tests for components of powered smoke exhaust systems. Components of powered smoke exhaust systems are all building parts through which air of fire gases flow as well as the additional applicanes necessary for their operation, e.g. electric power supply. Depending on the operating efficiency, powered smoke exhaust systems can replace smoke exhaust as well as heat exhaust systems according to the series of standard DIN 18232.
