Scope

This standard specifies several chemical methods of passivation for corrosion resisting steels (austenitic, ferritic, martensitic and precipitation hardenable) and of decontamination for nickel base alloys. note:1) Other processes (e.g. electrolytic polishing) can also produce passivated surfaces.
