Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of tear strength of fabrics. This standard applies to woven fabrics and may also be applied to fabrics produced by other techniques. This standard is not applicable to woven elastic fabrics, knitted fabrics, and fabrics with large warp and weft differences and sparse fabrics that may cause tear transfer.
