- Scope
- This standard stipulates the acceptance principle, acceptance limit, allowable value of measurement uncertainty of measuring instruments and selection principles of measuring instruments for the dimension inspection of smooth workpieces. This standard is applicable to the inspection of smooth workpieces whose basic dimensions are up to 500mm in tolerance grade 6-18 (IT6-IT18) marked on the drawing with ordinary measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers and comparators used in workshops. This standard is also applicable to the inspection of general tolerance dimensions.
