Scope: This standard specifies: a) procedures for the connectionless transmission of data and protocol control information from one transport entity to a peer transport entity; b) encoding of transport protocol data units used for data and control information transmission; c) correctness The procedures for interpreting the control information of the transport agreement; d) the functional requirements for implementations declared to be consistent with this standard. These procedures are defined in terms of: a) the interaction between peer transport entities through the exchange of transport protocol data units; b) the interaction between transport entities and transport service users through the exchange of transport service primitives; c) through the network Exchange of service primitives, interactions between transport entities and network service providers. This standard specifies the non-connection mode transport agreement, and provides the PICS form consistent with the relevant requirements given by ISO/IEC9646-2 and in line with its relevant guidelines. The transport protocol that provides the means of connection is specified in ISO/IEC8073.
