- This standard provides specifications and test methods for determining the fire safety of photographic films. This standard applies to known (unprocessed and processed) films of various plastic supports. This standard applies to silver salt film (gelatin type and non-gelatin type), color film, diazonium salt film, microbubble film and narrow strip magnetic and full width magnetic coated film, excluding magnetic tape and video tape . Appendix A introduces a test method for on-site detection of film burning properties. The marking method of safety film is listed in Appendix B. Appendix C describes a simple test method for distinguishing unsecured nitrocellulose base from secured cellulose acetate and polyester base films.
