- This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection methods, packaging, and signs of industrial nitrogen products. This standard applies to gaseous nitrogen or liquid nitrogen produced by air separation. It is chemically inert and nonflammable. It is an asphyxiating gas and is mainly used as a protective gas.
