This standard specifies the drawing principles of graphic symbols used on electrical equipment. The content includes rules for designing symbols (including their shape and size) and instructions for using symbols. This standard is applicable to: - identification of electrical equipment or its components (such as controllers or displays); - indication of functional status (such as on, off, alarm); - marking connections (such as terminals, connectors); - providing Packaging information (such as content identification, handling instructions); --Provide operating instructions for electrical equipment (such as warnings, restrictions on use). The principles stipulated in this standard are not intended primarily for use in: --drawings; --product technical documentation; --public information. The graphic symbols specified in GB 4728 and GB 10001 can also be used on electrical equipment after being drawn according to the principles of this standard.
