Scope
The method described in this standard is applicable to the measurement of the illuminance of the black light source during fluorescent magnetic particle and fluorescent penetrant testing. This method is also applicable to the verification of whether the black light intensity on the surface of the inspected material or component complies with the regulations during the inspection process. The radiation involved in this standard refers to the black light with a wavelength range of 315-400nm and a maximum radiation wavelength of 360-370nm produced by a high-pressure mercury discharge lamp filtered by an appropriate medium. Appendix A (appendix to the standard) gives recommended illuminance for non-destructive testing.
