This standard gives rules for the verification of steel bars and skeletal structures wich may fail through instability. It has always to be applied in conjunction with DIN 18800 part 1. Distinction is made between the type of failure of buckling and lateral torsional buckling. For the verification three different calculation methods as well as simplified verifications are indicated.
