Scope
This British Standard specifies characteristics of a chromium-nickel-copper-molybdenum corrosion resisting steel supplied in the following forms, and as parts, for general aerospace use: a) forging stock and billets and bars for subsequent working: softened, designation S145A; b) forgings: solution treated, designation S145C; c) forgings: solution treated and precipitated, designation S145G; d) black bar for machining: solution treated, designation S145B; e) black bar for machining: solution treated and precipitated, designation S145F; f) bright bar for machining: solution treated, designation S145D; g) bright bar for machining: solution treated and precipitated, designation S145H.
