This International Standard specifies the requirements for an electrical insulating material containing mica paper with glass fabric or plastic film and impregnated with a suitable resin. The material is supplied in a flexible state. It may be supplied in the form of sheets or rolls. The product is designed for use in cables capable of operating after a fire.
This specification covers material having a nominal thickness from 0,05 mm to 0,15 mm.
Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone.
