- This standard stipulates the style of using Chinese characters and Arabic numerals when publications refer to numbers (indicating time, length, quality, area, volume, etc. and numerical codes). This standard applies to all levels of news newspapers, popular books and professional social and humanities publications. Natural science and engineering technical publications should also use this standard, and professional rules can be formulated. This standard does not apply to literary books and rearranged ancient books.
