- Scope
- This standard applies to metallized electrode polyethylene terephthalate (referred to as polyester) dielectric DC chip fixed capacitors for electronic equipment. These capacitors have metallized tabs or solder pads and are mounted directly on the substrate of the hybrid circuit or on the printed circuit board. This type of capacitor may have self-healing properties related to the use conditions, and they are mainly used in occasions where the AC component is relatively small relative to the rated voltage. This standard does not include fixed capacitors for radio interference suppression. Capacitors for radio interference suppression are included in the IEC384-14 standard.
