This standard stipulates the evaluation conditions, measurement and evaluation methods of hydraulic turbine cavitation, and gives the guaranteed amount of cavitation. This standard applies to impact turbines with a single unit capacity greater than 10Mw, or with a nominal diameter of a Francis runner greater than or equal to 1m, and an axial runner with a nominal diameter greater than or equal to 2m. Water turbines smaller than the above capacity or diameter can also be used as a reference. For hydraulic turbines with a nominal diameter of the mixed-flow runner greater than 6m and the nominal diameter of the axial-flow runner greater than 8m, the guaranteed amount of cavitation can be negotiated separately with reference to this standard. The influence of hydro turbine on the power, efficiency, vibration and noise of the unit due to cavitation is not included in the scope of this assessment.
