- This standard specifies the terminology, product classification, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of ionizing radiation thickness gauges. This standard applies to ionizing radiation thickness gauges (hereinafter referred to as thickness gauges) that use ionizing radiation to non-destructively measure the thickness or mass per unit area of the measured material.
