- This standard specifies methods for the determination of changes in color, appearance, mechanical or other properties of plastics after they are exposed to natural or artificial light according to a specific exposure method. This standard is applicable to the investigation of the law and degree of color and performance changes of plastics in the process of aging tests in indirect sunlight under glass, natural climate or various artificial climate chambers with different light sources. It is also applicable to other specific climatic conditions and specific time exposures. Evaluation of the color fastness and performance retention rate of post-plastics. Note: Other weathering tests and other standard methods of performance testing may also apply (see 4.1 and Appendix A).
