This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, technical requirements and test methods, sampling, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and safety of automotive diesel. This standard applies to automotive diesel fuel used in compression-ignition engine vehicles that is produced from petroleum or has additives to improve performance. This standard does not apply to vehicle diesel fuel containing biodiesel as a blending component.
