This document describes a method for the determination of silver content in silver alloy jewelry using the sodium chloride or potassium chloride volumetric method (potentiometric titration). This document applies to silver alloy jewelry, handicrafts and materials with a silver content of 800‰~999‰. These alloys may contain copper, zinc, cadmium and palladium, the presence of these elements will not interfere with the determination method except that palladium must be precipitated and separated before starting the titration. Note: This method is the recommended replacement method of GB/T17832.
